About Maya
My name is Maya Gardos, and I am recent graduate from Yale University. I have worked as a tutor since 2018 and have extensive experience teaching a variety of subjects. My areas of specialization are elementary and middle school ELA and math, high school English and writing, college application essay writing, and SAT prep. Having taught a wide berth of students with different needs, I pride myself on my adaptability. I strive to match the individual learning style of each and every one of my students.

First, I work with the student to see where their areas of weakness are. My initial goal is to get a good idea as to why the student sought out a tutor and the best places for me to help. Then, going forward, I maintain contact with the student in order to better prepare for sessions and address their needs. I typically teach using a white board or by going over preselected worksheets and readings.
