About Christy

Hi my name is Christy Lee.

I believe all students can acheive any goal they set for themselves. I am a teacher who believes creating a positive environment and a growth mindset when I teach

I love teaching students and have over 10 years classroom experience in CA. I love teaching Language,Writing, Social Science and Science. I have a Multiple Subject Credential. I am passionate about helping students grow in their understanding of a subject and I love it when students really grasp a concept and have an "AHA" moment. Students do this when they understand the material and believe in themselves.

I help students learn subjects by finding out what they know and then scaffolding and modeling concepts to help them understand what they dont know and become confident learners

I also offer study skills and organizational strategies to help them create a positive learning environment.

I cannot wait to meet your student and help them reach their goals.

I enjoy helping student develop a positive mindset and belief in themselves. I love helping students create strategies and see patterns in their work that will help them be able to tackle problems or questions that may come up in future assignments. My goal is to help each student become a confident indepentent student.

I have always loved learning and have wanted to become a teacher as far back as I can remember. I became a teacher in 2002 after completing my teaching credential at CSU Stanislaus in CA. I have taught K-7 grade classes with an emphasis on K-4 grades.

I have a Multiple subject teaching credential from CA. I also have a Bachlors degree in Organizational Communication and Writing.

About the lesson

When I meet a new student we talk about what grade they are in what they know as it pertains to the subject they require tuturing in and what they would like to know.

They may have questions about an entire subject or they may need help with a particular concept for example fractions or decimals.

I have worked with all kinds of students in grades K-7. I have taught 1st grade 3rd grade and 6 grade and I have been a substitute teacher for many years teaching k-7 grades. I have worked with children who excel in ever subject as well students that strugglein certain subjects. I have also taught students that have ADHD and other learning differences.

Look for a teacher who is knowlegable about the subject that you need help in but also look for teachers that teach in different ways with different techniques and modalities.

Details

I charge $20 for an hour of tutoring. I am also willing to tutor in half hour increments. I offer individual student strategy sessions for the purpose of creating a plan for the week and student accountability.
