About Toni

I stand out through my high marks in my own personal education, as well as my exemplary experience in helping my clients reach their goals. I am currently a rising junior studying finance at Rutgers University Honors College. I graduated from Bergen County Academies, one of the top public high schools in the nation, with a 3.83 unweighted GPA and a 34 ACT score, and I have sustained a 3.97 GPA at college. In past experience, I have worked with all ages. I tutored a high schooler in Algebra 2, have done private ACT tutoring, and group SAT tutoring for underprivileged high schoolers in Bergen County. I have also worked with kids as a camp counselor at Camp Wydaca in Wyckoff, NJ, and am currently involved in a tutoring and mentorship program with elementary school students in New Brunswick, where I attend college. I am able to provide flexible service, leveraging my own education, extensive experience, and open, hard-working personality.

I love helping clients reach their goals and seeing their progress as the tutoring goes on. I have always been someone who values strong education and hard work, and I feel very rewarded being able to help others achieve their educational goals. By the end of my time tutoring a client, I feel like they have transformed in their intellectual ability, work ethic, and confidence, and I feel great knowing I made a difference in someone's life through great service.

I started teaching when one of my classmates told me about a private tutoring job he thought I would be a strong fit for. I thought I would enjoy helping a client reach their educational goals, so I decided to give the job a shot. I realized how much I enjoyed tutoring and looked for further opportunities from there.

About the lesson

I begin by working with the student to understand their objectives and a long term plan to reach them. I try to get a better understanding of how they are able to learn and what their strengths and weaknesses are, often with a preliminary test. From there, I work week by week to follow the schedule and make sure we are achieving the progress we hope for.

I have worked with all ages, from elementary school students to high schoolers. I feel comfortable and adaptable working with different age groups, as they all require a slightly different approach.
