About Emily
Hello! My name is Emily Holmes, I am a Math tutor and I love it. My academic background is a 1st class Masters in Mathematics from the best university in the UK, as ranked by The Guardian University Guide, the University of St Andrews.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, spanning various levels and ages. What I find particularly rewarding about tutoring is the ability to convey the beauty of mathematics through a multitude of teaching approaches. Whether you prefer a structured syllabus or a more flexible, discussion-based approach, I am eager to tailor my teaching style to suit your preferences. My goal is not only to help you comprehend mathematical concepts but to also instill a genuine appreciation for the subject. Together, we can explore different avenues of learning and work towards achieving any mathematical goals you aspire to reach. I look forward to the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for mathematics and assist you on your academic journey.

Emily tutored our son in Math at ages 10/11 and 15/16. She was absolutely amazing. In addition to her obvious talent and love of Math, her approach to teaching is superb. She is calm, patient and explains things with such simplicity and clarity.
Our son always struggled with Math, but thanks to Emily he passed his key stage exams with considerable ease. Most remarkably of all....he actually told us he ENJOYED learning Math with Emily. Unheard of!!!
We can not recommend Emily highly enough. She was very kind and helpful! She explained things very clearly and really made me understand things.
