About Adam
Greetings Learners!
I worked for over a decade as a Chemical Engineer for several fortune 500 companies around the country before starting my own business and working primarily from home.
I began home schooling my children 4 years ago and found that I loved being able to share my knowledge and experience with others. This led to me tutoring and instructing Physics, General and Physical Science, as well as Algebra 1 and 2 to groups of high schoolers and college students.
I am highly fluent in technology for connecting with my students, and am flexible and versatile in a wide range of subjects.
I have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University plus 10+ years of industry experience and 4+ years of teaching experience.
Put me to work to help yourself or you student succeed!

I love seeing understanding come together for a student. There's nothing quite like seeing the light come on and a student truly understand what they are seeing. It makes all the time spent well worth it!
Following college I spent over a decade working as a chemical engineer where I used my knowledge of chemistry, physics, algebra and more to solve real world problems and improve the performance of multi-million dollar manufacturing facilities. I specialized in problem solving as well as training and instruction of new production operators and trainees.
Then about 5 years ago, my wife and I started our own business and I transitioned into working from home full time.
We also made the decision to home school our 3 children at that time and I discovered that many students struggle to really understand and apply math and science, especially in middle and high school. I began doing some tutoring and small class instruction and found I had a knack for connecting with students and making complicated subjects easy to understand and apply.

When meeting a new student I like to chat a bit about their learning styles and preferences and see if we are a good personality fit. I try to set out clear expectations from the student and parents and ensure that I can fulfill them to the best of my ability. I see my role as a partner to the student and and parent in getting the best possible outcomes.
I primarily work with high school and collegiate students in higher level science and mathematics. Many of my students are doing collegiate Chemistry or Physics specifically, while many of my mathematics students are in their Junior or Senior years of high school.
I would advise you consider the personality of your perspective tutor as much as their resume. While many people can understand complex scientific and mathematical concepts, there are far fewer that can explain these ideas to someone learning it for the first time. I find the best tutors focus on their students needs and styles more than their own sense of self importance.

Perfect! I hired him to help me with chem 1 and 2. He definitely knows his stuff, and is extremely helpful. 10/10
Perfect! Very educated in chemistry and guided me through the material I had to work on. I liked how thorough he was when explaining concepts and willingness to help me understand so I could succeed. I also really liked how organized he was and his flexibility with scheduling. Fantastic tutor!

Adam Parker is nothing short of a miracle worker. My 16 year old son had failed multiple math programs and multiple tutors when he decided he no longer wanted to go to high school and would like to move on to college. This was not a problem in any other subject except math. Adam agreed to tutor my son the summer before he started College Algebra at a 4 year university and then continued to tutor him throughout the semester.
Adam worked diligently with my very normal 16 year old boy who sometimes forgot to do his work, did not always practice problems outside of tutoring, needed to reschedule sessions because he forgot he had to work or schedule many extra sessions because he had an exam that week. Through it all, Adam was patient, tolerant, flexible, and helpful. I would hear Adam on the computer asking my son the simplest of math questions and waiting patiently because my son was not paying attention the first two times he was asked. Adam never wavered and was always encouraging helping my son go from, "there's no way I'm ever going to pass a college math test mom!" to "I'm pretty confident on this test, mom." It was a beautiful change to watch.
Adam allowed me to move from helicoptor parent to relaxed parent letting my son mature into being able to schedule his own appointments and figure out his needs for each week. I am fully aware Adam took the brunt of helping my son mature as a student responsible for his assignments and helping him to gain confidence in an area he had always struggled in and truly believed he was incapable of success.
My 16 year old, is currently holding a B+ in his College Algebra class and it is solely due to Adam's choice to go well above and beyond. His endless patience, constant flexibility, and tireless review has truly changed my son's knowledge of math and his belief in himself. I highly recommend this man if you need a tutor or if you are like me and needed a miracle in the math realm. My Junior came home from school upset and panicked about her pre calc grade after a bad test score. A 4.0 student, she was distraught at possibly getting a B and maybe even a C in this class. “I just need someone that explains it to me better than my teacher because I don’t understand him!” Well Adam has been exactly that...according to my daughter he teaches in a way that makes so much more sense to her and after just 5 sessions she is feeling more confident and much less stressed. Additionally, his rates are excellent and he got back to us immediately and began tutoring via zoom within 24 hours of contacting him. I highly recommend trusting Adam Parker to tutor your student.
Adam is very knowledgeable yet explains concepts in ways student understand. He is always willing to help and is very encouraging and patient with struggling students. He is engaging with the students and easy to talk to and ask questions.
My son has met with Adam three times and went from being frustrated with Pre-Algebra and scorings C's, to consistently scoring B's. Not only that, he looks forward to his weekly meetings. Adam is down to earth and funny and takes concepts that are difficult and makes them understandable. We are so pleased with his approach and character.
Zach really enjoyed your classes. He said he learned a lot and you were easy to follow and that says a lot considering it was Algebra ll.
Mr. Parker is an excellent teacher! My daughter is a Sophomore and he made Physics come to life in a way that made it so she not only understood what she was studying but she felt compelled to learn more and more! I am very thankful for his passion to see students excel at whatever stage they are in. Highly recommend!
Our daughter was having a difficult time figuring out a math problem. Unable to explain things, I reached out to Adam for help. He was quick to jump in, made her feel comfortable (she was a little nervous about meeting with a tutor) and by the end of her first session, she was already at ease and went on to complete the remainder of her assignment and answering questions correctly. Having other teens in high school, we will keep Adam on our list of go-to math tutors.
Adam is an excellent tutor! He is very knowledgeable and has a great way of explaining the information. Our son could not have passed physics with out him. We highly recommend Adam and are thankful we found him!
Adam has been easy to work with. He is knowledgeable about math, flexible on scheduling & curriculum, and a positive and motivational influence. He was just the right fit for us at just the right time!
Mr. Parker is the best math instructor I've ever had. He made it fun and helped me actually understand Algebra for the first time.
