About Taylor

Hi, I'm Taylor, I graduated from Punahou School and am currently studying nursing at Seattle University. I've worked a Summer community service job at St. Clements Preschool and have worked multiple Summers as a teacher's assistant for both 4th and 7th grade classes. I also used to tutor at my highschool's peer learning center doing a few of my breaks each week for community service as well. I am well versed in math and science, but also used to correct other students' papers at my old tutoring place. I love kids, and helping others improve their grades as I know school can be challenging especially when the subjects build on each other. This is my first year as an offical online tutor but I've helped many of my friends with their math homework and college essays and used to help out younger kids at my old tutor's facility. Overall, I think that it is refreshing to get help from someone who isn't your teacher and is less authoritatve, maybe even a bit closer in age, as it makes the conversation and subject matter more natural coming from someone they can better relate to and who has been where they are currently.

I graduated from Punahou School, with 4 math credits and 6 science credits. I genuinely enjoy math and love being able to help other people. As I said, I've been through middle school and high school math so I understand what the student may be going through and how they may feel. I've worked multiple jobs with kids of varrying ages and have helped a ton of my friends with math concepts they did not understand.

About the lesson

Typically, to get the conversation going, I'd start with a few ice breakers, like theyre name, age, school, etc. Then get into what they're struggling with and work through problems with them.

I have worked with kids of varying ages from 4 years old all the way to high school seniors. I myself have ADD and have learned to deal with it so I have a good understanding of kid's who have simmilar disorders and need extra help.
