About Sophia

My name is Sophia Child, I am 15 years old and a sophomore at West Broward High School. I have only tutored my friends and my siblings in Algebra 1 and Geometry. I am advanced in math by two years and have completed all my EOC courses, including Biology, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I also completed Algebra 2 this past year. Apart from math, I am familiar with the AICE Cambridge program and Advanced Placement(AP) courses and have Completed AP Human Geography and AICE English General Paper. I have completed three years of Spanish in school and am on my way to earning my Seal of Biliteracy next year, even though I come from a Spanish-speaking home where both my parents speak Spanish. I was originally an ESL student and grew up speaking both languages, English and Spanish fluently. I have been told I am charismatic and get along well with people. Furthermore, I feel strongly that people should try different study and learning strategies until they find what works best for them and utilize them/incorporate others as necessary. I like to prove to a person that no one is unreachable and it just takes the right teacher and methods. Overall, I plan to instill rigor into a person by going at any pace, from a familiar and friendly face.
