About Hannah

About Me

Hello! My name is Hannah Hahn and I am a graduate student at UMass Boston studying Public History and I want to help you! I am a rock climber in my free time and like to read books about current events - yes for fun. I was a first grade teacher 2019-2020 and I will be going back to sub for a little. I love teaching and I love history. As a Public Historian, we stay up to date on current events and reflect on how our past actions affect our current political, social, and economic climate. I graduated Rampart High School with my International Baccalaureate diploma, went to University of New Mexico and University of Colorado for my undergraduate. I obtained my undergrad in History in 2019. I am here to help you develop proper, thesis driven essays, understand American politics without the drabness of history class, and provide you with the tools you need to succeed!

My Specialities

My specialities are European History. I wrote my Undergraduate thesis on "The Jacobite Uprising of 1745: The Threat to Scottish Identity and Culture" and obtained my Bachelors degree in History

In high school I did my IB Theatre Independant project on "Independent Project Portfolio: Directing the Chorus" and my IB Theatre Research Investigation on "How does the Ramakien’s first version by Rama I exemplify the Khon Mask Drama in the story of “Prince Rama’s fight with the Devil King Tosakanth” in its’ usage of costumes and masks?"

My TOK essay was on "“Ways of knowing are a check on our instinctive judgments.” To what extent do you agree with this statement?"

I am currently studying American political and social history as it pertains to modern events through the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

About the lesson

First, we determine which learning style will be of best use because there is no sense attempting to learn a subject if we can't benefit from a learning tool. I have often made note that those struggling with Social Studies are whiz's when it comes to the Maths or Sciences; therefore, it seems fitting that we use our methodologies of studying to track the same ones we use when learning other subjects. From there, we will create tools and study them. Best way to connect the dots in history is to outline them in a timeline and begin listing with said timeline. It creates a clear-cut understanding of our subject and from there, we can learn the subtleties that our professors and teachers are looking for.
