About Eva

My name is Eva Carrillo, I have been a tutor for various educational levels (middle school, high school. and university) for the last five years. I have a degree in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law from California Baptist University, where I graduated with honors. I am available for tutoring Mondays -Thursdays from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm; however, I am very flexible and can work outside the listed times and days if necessary.

I have been tutoring since I was in highschool and I have alway loved helping people reach their academic goals. It is important for me to go at the students pace and set realistic goals for them to acheive. I find it very rewarding when the student accomplishes their goals and when I see growth and progress in their learning.

I have a Bachelors degree in Political Science with a concentration in pre-law from California Baptist University where I graduated early with honors. I have also studied music for ten years and played piano for my university for two years. I have tutored students for the last five years and have helped each one reach their acedemic goals. I have tutored biology, music, history, economics, law, psycology, algebra, english, health, and writing across all educational levels.

About the lesson

I like to ask the student where they are struggling/what they would like to improve on, and then set realistic and achievable goals for them to reach within a certain amount of time. For example, raise their overall grade 15% by improving test and quiz scores, studying vocabulary for thirty minutes 5x a week, reading and dissecting text 3x a week, and taking a practice quiz once a week for the next two months.

I have worked with students of all different backgrounds and at all education levels

I would advise a student looking for a teacher in my area of expertise to find someone that works with them, sets realistic goals, and has a degree/is working towards one.

I recently got married with my husband in December of 2019!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I feel, that students should write down a list of what they want to acheive academically, and work backwards to find out what they will need to do to achieve those goals.

Due to my education level and experience, I start my pricing at $20 for a 30 minute session and $40 dollars for a 60 minute session and so on.
