About Derek
I am a double major in Spanish and Music at a private college in Minnesota. I have played guitar for over 10 years, taken voice lessons for 6 years, and have taken piano for 5 years. I have been giving lessons for over 6 years now and I am looking for more students. I will help you learn what you would like to learn, on top of the basics. I am a super easy going teacher, and people have said I am fun to work with!

National High School Choral Award 2017
WSMA State Solo Recital 1st place 2014-17
WSMA State Choral Ensemble 1st place 2014-17
I have toured the US with the Martin Luther Collegiate Choir 2018-2020
I have many voice recitals under my belt as well
A friend asked me to help her daughter with guitar and she learned quickly
I have a bachelors in Choral/Vocal music and Spanish education

I like getting to know my students to make them comfortable as we work together. I believe that being friendly can help remove the "awkwardness" of lessons
I have worked with all ages and types of students from 6 years old to 25 years old
Find someone that you are comfortable with, and if it doesn't work out, go to another teacher. It's ok.
I actually love DJ music! Any concert that my favorite DJs are at, I want to go.

It varies per instrument and where we are meeting. For example, I give half hour lessons on guitar for 15 dollars, or hour lessons for 25.
