About Roger

Southern California PGA teaching Hall of Fame. SCPGA Teacher of the Year, Clubfitter of the Year. GOLF Magazine Top 100 Alumni.

I teach golfers of all abilities from beginners to those playing for a living. Super excited about helping you!

I went from playing full time on the PGA European Tour and what's now the Kornferry Tour to teaching almost 30 years ago. I had always loved studying about the swing and this work translated very well into teaching golfers of all abilities. I found it fun and love spending time with folks helping them with their games.

I'm certified with the Plane Truth, Science and Motion Puttlab, and Capto. I've studied for years with Jim Hardy, as well as with George Genkas (great on biomechanics), and James Jordan. I'm also a PGA Class "A" member and a member of the Southern California Teaching Hall of Fame. I've been Southern California's PGA Teacher of the Year, and a member of GOLF Magazine's Top 100 Alumni.

I like to learn not only about a new student's game, but to learn about them away from golf as well. Expertise in other areas of life can help me to customize our lessons together. I want to know about what's happening on the range and the course. Sometimes my own vision for what a student needs doesn't match what they are looking for! Example would be a student who wants to hit it farther, when I simply feel like a higher ball-flight is in order. After our brief discussion, it's time for me to "learn" my student's swing by watching some golf shots. Once I've done this, I'll check out the numbers on Flightscope and take a look on video to show the student what needs to be done!

I've had students of all levels, from two Ryder Cup members, players on the Kornferry Tour, PGA and LPGA tours, as well as beginners who have never touched a club. If a student is engaged and ready to learn, it's a great mindset for learning and process goes very well.

Come on over and let's get started! This has been a life's passion for me and I can't wait to share my expertise with you. I'll give you concrete guidance and a roadmap on how to get better. No more guessing! Your time at the range and on the course will be much more fun when you know what you're supposed to do.

Watching the Oak Park Girls Golf program flourish! I teach a number of their players and they're just fantastic.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about strong points and weak points. You want the strong points to stay strong and to improve the weak points.
