About Michael
Michael joined the Nemacolin family in 2020, as the lead golf instructor. He specializes in high-performance development of adults and junior golfers. Over his time as a teaching professional he has worked with many beginners, competitive juniors and touring professionals. Michael tailors his coaching style to fit the needs of the player in front of him and does not adhere to a specific “model” or one size fits all approach. Through the use of skills assessments/testing, statistical analysis, on-course training, and the use of technology, Michael can assist golfers of all skill levels to reach their personal goals and make golf more enjoyable. Michael’s three most important characteristics for every golfer include: course management, a strong short game and placing an emphasis on skills rather than picture perfect technique. When Michael is not coaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife Laura, running, cycling, watching sports and playing golf.

1. Create an open dialog between the student and the instructor – starts with a new student assessment (paperwork that the student fills out and a meet and greet)
2. Determine if the student has any restrictions or disabilities that will prevent them from making certain movements in the golf swing
3. Diagnose the students swing/ball flight using video and trackman analysis
4. Create a plan for the student depending on their commitment
5. Show the student a roadmap to their goals and what is needed from both parties
6. Move the student into propositions and use of training aids.
7. Develop a practice plan based on their commitment
I have had the privilege to work with beginner level players all the way up to Mini Tour level players.
I have had the privilege to work with students between the ages of 3 and 93.
The best advice I would give a student is to find a teacher that acts as though that student is the only student that the instructor has. That the instructor is going to invest time in them to assist them to reach their goals. Find an instructor that is knowledgeable and up to date with what is going on in the teaching industry. The instructor must also fit the needs of the student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. How much time are you willing to invest - need to know if you have time to practice between lessons
2. What are your goals?
3. Why are you taking instruction? (Make JV/V team, want to play in college, tournaments, playing with friends/family, want to play better for work)
4. Willingness to change. Yes change!! Some people feel uncomfortable with change but what you are comfortable with might not be the best for you and what may feel uncomfortable at first does not always mean it is wrong. It is our goal as an instructor to assist you in creating a long-lasting, consistent and efficient swing to decrease dispersion creating consistency in scores. Our regular students have experienced this change that has assisted their games to loose and average of 6 to 10 strokes and counting!!!

Hey Mike, Thanks again for the lesson a few weeks ago, I finally feel like my old swing is coming back again. I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that this past weekend was my first time shooting in the low 40's or even under 45 for over a year! I am excited to get back to it this summer.
