My name is Grace, and I am a recent Cornell University graduate currently working in consulting for my gap year before medical school. I have experience working in Cornell's Undergraduate Admissions. I scored a 2270 on my SAT I (800 Math, 710 Reading, 760 Writing) and 800 on Math II. Combined with my inside knowledge of the Ivy League admissions process, I can help you plan and prepare for your entire college admissions journey - from SAT to Common App.

I can personalize your college admissions strategy based on your background, extracurriculars, and goals. For early high school students, I help map out relevant extracurricular activities to create a perfect narrative for college admissions.

I can also leverage my experiences helping students with college admissions essays to make sure your personal essay will stand out.

I first began in high school, when I was approached by a family friend whose son was attending Lawrenceville School. I began by helping her son write essays for his English courses. Later, as an undergraduate at Cornell working in Admissions, I helped the same student build a strategy for college admissions and supported him in the personal statement. Eventually, through word of mouth, I was connected to other students and helped many other students of diverse backgrounds crack the admissions process.

I have graduated from Cornell University in 2020 with a B.S. in Biology and Business. During my undergraduate years, I worked in Cornell's Undergraduate Admissions, where I was able to gain tremendous insights into what goes in the admissions process behind closed doors. I have also privately consulted students in the Common App process for the past 2 years.

About the lesson

I first gather information about the student, assessing their background, interests, and goals. Depending on the student's process in the admissions process, I can create a tailored admissions strategy, from extracurricular activity planning and testing all the way to Common App essays.

I worked with various students, from top-performing students attending top boarding schools to underperforming students with average GPA/low SATs.

I have 3 main pieces of advice for students:

1. Find a tutor who offers inside knowledge of the admissions process - someone who has direct work experience with Admissions.

2. Find a tutor who has personal experience cracking the admissions process.

3. Find a tutor who doesn't take a cookie-cutter approach to admissions for all students - a tutor who can tailor the approach based on your background and interests.
