About Jordan
I'm a jack of all trades, so I'm sure we can find something we have in common! I've done every sport except 2; basketball and track. I love to act, sing, dance, paint, sculpt, write, and more.
I have a B.A. in Communications, so I'm well-educated in handling situations and read verbal/non-verbal cues of frustration. This helps me know when my students need more support but are afraid to ask for help.
I've always been told since I was young I'd be a great teacher because of my bubbly personality and patience. I love people and making new friends. I hope I can be yours too!
My favorite things to do: watch Anime, play video games, read and do anything artsy.
My biggest flaw: I binge-watch shows or movies when I can't sleep or just for fun. I'm working on it :)I'm a jack of all trades, so I'm sure we can find something we have in common! I've done every sport except 2; basketball and track. I love to act, sing, dance, paint, sculpt, write, and more.

I've always taught people throughout my life, just different situations. However, one day I realized I really wanted to teach students and also interact with incredible cultures from all around. That's how I found ESL and this is my journey. :)
I was a Martial arts instructor for 3.5 years at age 15. I taught people as old as 70 and as young as 4. I was also a counselor and after-school tutor for kids at the after-school care at Bostocks USA Tae Kwon Do.
I then was a trainer at every single one of my jobs after about a year. This was because I'm a quick learner and good at teaching others how to do what they need.

When working with a new student it is ALWAYS important to build a relationship/connection. It's hard to teach students who don't connect with you.
I always try to start the first meet by just getting to know each other by playing a game like 2 truths and a lie (kids love that one). This has made students more relaxed and comfortable with me. Making their learning experience enjoyable.
From 4 years old to 70.
Well, this one is a tricky question. Definitely find a teacher you would feel comfortable with. My teaching style is more relaxed and friendly, but some students do better in strict and serious environments.
Make sure that they're available for emergency meetings or quick tutor sessions in case you're having a struggle with something important.
I once taught a kid who was around 8 years old how to solve a math problem and he cried for hours. His parents were stressed and irritated so I offered to help (they're friends of the family) and I got him to stop crying and start laughing. Then I explained it to him with a smile and patience and he got it in about 15/20 mins. He was SO happy. The smile he gave me was so infectious. I'm smiling just thinking about how proud he looked.
