About Jessica
Hello all! My name is Ms. Kennedy and I'm so excited to potentially work with you! This is my third year teaching (2nd time in 2nd grade) and I can't wait to use what I've learned teaching in NY schools to you! Whether it be helping understand the complex new ways foundational math is explained to your young ones, phonics, reading or simply just homework help, I'm here to push our students forward.
The look on a students face when they are proud of themselves and the work and goals they accomplish. That is exactly why I do what I do. I am determined to make every student grow from where they are. I love learning about my students and love to learn from them and exchanging cultures. With the power to believe we can ACHIEVE!

When working with a new student it's important to get to know one another first and build a teacher-student relationship. I will learn about home life of the student and what their likes/dislikes are. This will help me tailor the instruction to the student and build in more real-world/life connections to the learning.
