About Robyn

English, reading, and writing are my areas of expertise! I am a proofreader and editor, so I am an expert at grammar too! I spent a lot of my time reading and writing for both school and for fun, and I'd love to share what I have learned and will learn! I am also proficient in many areas of math, science, and history! I am flexible in terms of time and dates, and I currently do virtual one on one tutoring and class tutoring!

I have lots of experience working with kids both in and out of the classroom. I am a TA currently for a 10th grade English class, and I have volunteered with many organizations such as CSTL to teach kids about biology! I enjoy getting to know the student both as a person and as a learner, and I try to combine their interests and passions with their academic goals!

In class, I've always asked many questions and facilitated deep discussions. One of my teachers said "Hey Robyn, you'd be a great teacher!" and that's where it started!

I've gone through high school ( I am a senior in high school, a few months to go) I am a Teacher's Assistant for a 10th Grade English class at the moment, so I know how the classroom works and a behind the scenes look at the teaching process. I have taken English, History, and Science courses on the honors and Advanced Placement levels.

About the lesson

I try to get to know them as a person first and their personality, what their passions are, and overall what they're like! We then work together to figure out what their learning style is (there are many different types) and I will combine those things into lessons and instruction that the student will understand best and enjoy the most!

Details

It depends on the service. My standard fee for one on one tutoring is $40 an hour, but I am extremely flexible with price and will alter it to fit your financial needs. Class prices depend on the amount of people in the class and the class I'm teaching, if you have any specific questions about that, let me know!
