About Michela
As a current school teacher, I have a passion for inspiring and encouraging students to love learning. We are always learning, and I hope to instill excitement in my students to learning. I always find different ways to ensure that each individual student understands the content, and is taught through their learning style. I currently teach special education students, and I love watching them engage in learning and see the 'light bulb' go off when they understand a concept.
I have a K-12 teaching certification in special education. I have taught for 4 years, teaching grade 6-8 in English, Reading, and Math. I attend various professional development classes throughout the year to keep up to date on the latest teaching strategies and resources. I am currently enrolled in a PhD program in Special Education

I conduct what I call student interviews to see what the student knows and doesn't know, what their learning style is (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and I use this to drive my instruction. I frequently check for understanding and ensure the student knows what I am teaching.
