About Allie

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a small school. I work best by serving others. However, I would like to be able to work from home so that I can be with my 1 year old. I love teaching students and I love to watch them learn! It is my passion to work with children and I love what I do. Let me serve you and your childs needs!

I had a lifelong dream of working in the education field. I went to college for 4 years and achieved high honors to graduate and become a teacher. I am passionate about my job, and I could not picture myself doing anything else.

I have been teaching for 6 months in a Kindergarten classroom. Before that, I worked in the after school program and did 6 months of student teaching. I also have 60 hours in the classroom helping students with a mentor teacher.

About the lesson

I like to get to know the student and the family first. I like to get an understanding of what the learner struggles most with so I can learn what has been tried and then see what other angle we can approach from.

I have worked with students that have special needs, average students that had a single defecit area, and ESL students.

A number or grade doesn't define you. How hard you are willing to work to get to where your going is what matters.

We just hosted literacy night at my school. It was a December themed night filled with reading Christmas stories, eating special snacks, and making special ornaments. I enjoyed getting to see my students and their familes while working with them to make an ornament they can place on their tree at home.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Target where your biggest struggles are. For example, math is a broad subject. Try to narrow down where your biggest struggle is such as fractions, exponents, long division, etc. before trying to find a tutor so that you can find one specific to your need.

Details

I typically charge $20 a session, with sessions being 45 minutes - 1 hour long. It is dependant upon what I am tutoring the student in as well.
