About Lorraine

I try to make learning as easy as possible by simply trying to explain in the most thorough way possible. I have a great amount of patience with students when something is not understood. That is when I try to break stuff down in the simplest and most memorable way possible. Most importantly, I tend to make learning less boring, starting off with speaking to my student on how they like school, more so have a friendly, comical conversation to start off with while drifting into the work that needs to be done. I did not start off as a business, I volunteered for a full summer at the boys and girls club tutoring the kids in the homework room. I am a High School graduate and now a Private in the US Army as a reserve, soon to be attending college again while majoring in dental hygiene.

I certainly enjoy meeting new students and being able to help them on things that they struggle with. Seeing how proud they get after recieving an excellent grade just puts joy in me knowing that I was able to help that student in the process.

I just recently graduated high school having more english credits than any other subject. I had taken a Composition Coarse and Psychology coarse during my first semester in college. Now a reserve in the US Army, my MOS as a 56M (Religious Affairs Specialist) is to counsel fellow soldiers and to provide backup up Army chaplains.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is friendly introducing my self, ask a little about how they like school, their favorite subject, favorite school activites, etc. Then getting into the assignment of whatever reading they have problems with, seeing or hearing them explain the syllabus or what the lesson is about. Then, get into the process of reading and coming to a full understanding of what my student is showing me to then break down what is being said.

I have worked with students who tend to be stubborn and not wanting to do their work, or students that were just being lazy. Now, with taking a coarse in child development as well as psychology, I have a way into getting students to atleast try. Obviously, discipline or force is never an option. Simply rewarding whenever a deed is done is the best way to help (especially younger) students.
