About Jason

Since Middle School I have always been the “go to” person whether that be for essay review, to solve and break down a math problem, or to explain a biological concept-in other words-I am quite the generalist. Yet, what I am particularly fond of and passionate about, is history, current events, and writing in general. In High School I demonstrated success across these areas by successfully getting a 4 in AP World, a 5 in both US Gov and US History, and a passing score in both AP English Lang and AP English Lit. Beyond High School, I have thus far, been incredibly successful here at UCLA as I am(currently) on the Deans Honors List performing incredibly well in my GE’s and lower division Political Science courses. It is this success, and opportunities that it will certainly create, that I wish to replicate for my students whom ( I desire) will exceed far beyond what I have accomplished and far beyond their initial expectations. I recognize it is a struggle and I recognize the stigma associated with seeking help. Yet, the mere fact your seeking help, is not a sign of being “dumb”, instead, it is a sign of intelligence, initiative, and perseverance which is highly commendable. It is with this attitude, and with personalized instructional approaches, that I am eager and more then willing to serve you!

What I enjoy most when it comes to helping others in their educational goals is seeing the relief, progress, and growth they experience both in-and outside-the classroom. In today's world indivdsuals are most interested in themselves and often unwillling-or unfortunatly-unable to lend a helping hand. It is with this in mind that many of my peers would consistently come up to me to review essays, college applications, biology hw, math hw, and everything in between. It is this trait, and my success, that makes me confident-that whomever I may help-will walk away with independence and conviction.

Current UCLA Undergraduate majoring in Political Science and likely to major/minor in Economics or Statistics.

About the lesson

Whenever I work with students I do my best to teach them not what to think-but how to think. It is with this approach or philsophy that I will ensure my students are equipped for the days when help is not readily available. For too long do teachers, tutors, and other entities prep students not for independence, decisiviness, or conviction, but instead students today are being equipped with the trait of fear, doubt, and ill-confidence. It is my mission to change this. It is my mission to ensure every student I encounter is prepped for the bad times yet stellar and excedding the expectation in the good times.

Details

$15/hr (those who signup between April 3 and August 15 2021)

Once that period has elapsed, or once number of slots are filled, the rate is between $17-20/hr contingent on the tier my student desires.
