About Dustin

Hi there. I'm Dustin. I'm 24 years old, and I discovered I was a writer when I was in fifth grade, at the slightly-less ripe age of 10. All it took was the right teacher and the right assignment, and I've been writing ever since. I was in advanced, honors, and AP English and Writing classes throughout school. I'm a Film Studies Major from the University of Denver (I have experience in screenwriting and script editing as well), and I was a successful essay writer through business courses, history courses, as well as gender studies, journalism, and literary analysis.

I'm a young person, and take great responsibility in tutoring and assisting students just a few years removed from myself. We share a generation in a lot of ways, so I take pride in supporting my peers and readying them for class. I've tutored classmates before, and have helped with a lot of elementary school homework.

I was most recently a personal assistant to an author, helping her edit hundreds of pages of manuscripts, in addition to developing film projects from her novels and assembling a children's book with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. My linkedin can be found here: (concealed information)

Every time I help someone with a writing assignment, I learn something new, and become a better writer myself. Every prompt and rubric is a new challenge, and each student brings a uniquge stlye and approach to the subject. I love to learn, which is why I enjoy the work of teaching and tutoring.

About the lesson

I ask a lot of questions at first. It's for me to learn the needs of the student and their assignments, as well as begin to brainstorm with the student on substantive writing topics that provide clear answers and solutions to prompts.
