About Jeffrey

I am a passionate teacher with 25 year of experience in education teaching Engligh. I have experience working with Special Education students as well as general and advance educational students. I have taught in urban and rural areas. I am certified in Language Arts 6-12 and I also have my Masters in Educational Leadership. I was nominated for Who's Who amongst teachers 2 times, 2000 and 2005.

I always enjoyed working with kids and after two years in college I decided I wanted to impact the lives of kids. The biggest influence on my life outside of my parents were teachers.

I have 25 years experience as a Language Arts teacher.

About the lesson

I first need to find out exactly what the student needs or expects. I will ask the student what they believe they need the most work in. I will then put together a plan to execute moving forward to reach those goals

I have worked with students from all walks of life and students that have been top tier all the way down to bottom tier.

I would advise them to reach out to the tutor if possible because there has to be some trust involved with the tutor you are working with. I think its good to have someone that is experienced working with students on all levels.

I take a lot of pride working with troubled students and seeing them after teaching them and hearing how much of an influence I had on their life. I recently ran into a student that was more than enough trouble in class but he apologized and told me how much I had influenced him in a positive way.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the first thing is for students to be honest about what areas they are weak in. The student also has to be willing to put the work in to become better. I would always tell parents that as a teacher I don't have a magic wand. The student has to be willing to work to become better in that subject area.
