I start with conversation to break the ice and to let them know that I am here to help them improve their academic skills.

I typically start instruction with a pre-assessment to determine their academic level and learning style.

I have worked with student having disabilities, as well as, students without disabilties. I have also taught gifted students, as well as, students with Autism.

I would advise them to have their parents speak to the teacher so that he or she will have a through understanding of the student.

I am impressed that during Covid 19, various schools found a way to honor graduating seniors remotely. Even though we all experiencing something we have never seen before, we found a way to honor high school seniors.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should ask the teacher if she will be able to meet their academic needs and help them improve their skills. It would be great for parents to be involved in this process.
