About Jen
English and writing are two rapidly evolving education fields. Mastery of the language, the grammar and writing mechanics that shape it and the literature upon which it is built is possible for all students. It cannot be achieved without practice, however, and pupils often need additional support.
Teaching has always been my passion, and I have been a writer and news junkie ever since I was a child. I have extensive training and education in both MLA and AP style, which is essential for students progressing from high school to college or who are interested in a career in journalism. I am patient and love working with youth. I have a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and a master's degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University, where I graduated summa cum laude. I have worked at the Bangor Daily News for 16 years, and am a multi-award-winning Maine Press Association writer. Samples of my writing and poetry can be found on my website (concealed information)
Example of my news stories can be found on my Twitter page (concealed information)
