About Tiffany
The reality of our community is that many children in need of support do not have access to it or cannot afford it. The Well Education Center uniquely offers tutoring for whole community.
The Well allocates a portion of each student's tutoring session cost to a scholarship fund for children who specifically lack in reading proficiency, yet whose families can verifiably not afford remedial reading tutoring at full cost. These children are able to receive reading tutoring at a reduced rate and are given the academic and relational support needed to help them succeed!
In this way, the whole community grows together.

I began tutoring students when I was in Highschool. Teaching was not on my radar until Graduate School, when I was given an assistantship opportunity. At about the same time, I also began teaching children in an outreach program associated with my Church in Gainesville, Fl. I was given very favorable feedback from children, parents, professors and college students in reference to my ability to explain, instruct and facilitate application of information.
I arranged a part-time student teaching assignment for myself the last year of Graduate School. I continued to receive excellent feedback and truly enjoyed challenging, catalyzing and inspiring youth towards positive growth.
I have over 15 years experience working with students from Kindergarten to College in an academic setting. For two years I assistant taught at the collegiate level at the University of Florida and for one year worked with college students as a private and small group tutor in Gainesville, FL. I was a middle and high-school English, Logic and Psychology teacher for three years at a Classical Christian school in Gainesville, FL. And, for two years I was an after-school director for a program that taught remedial reading to elementary students struggling to reach grade-level. For years I have tutored students in the Gainesville area, primarily in the subjects of English, Reading, and Logic, and in the skills of Writing Composition, Vocabulary, Test-prep, Studying, Task management and organization and Research.
I hold a teaching certificate in the state of FL for K-6, all subjects and a teaching certification in 6-12 English. I have a Masters Degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and a Bachelors of Science from Grace College.

In working with a new student, our process begins with a conversation. This often starts with a private consult with parents and then merges into a conversation with the student and parent together, or with the student individually. In these conversations we discuss the areas of skill where the student is seeking improvement, former attempts and observable hindrances or challenges in mastering that skill. We determine what mastery looks like, how it is measured and how we plan to overcome the known challenges. We also determine an appropriate timeline for gathering feedback, having check-in conversations and possibly revising our initial plan.
After these discussions, we typically get to work. We either begin with a school assignment or something supplemental that the parents and I have agreed upon for the purpose of improving a certain skill for the student.
I have tutored students of various backgrounds and skill levels: from public to private, to home-school and online-school students, from struggling readers to ESL/international students, from elementary-aged all the way to college students, from emotionally/behaviorally challenged students to students learning in a classical curriculum context. Students of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious affiliations and socioeconomic status’ are welcome.
My experience has revealed that much of the academic struggles stem not from intellectual disabilities, but rather emotional and social-safety related causes. Look for a tutor that is willing to help the whole person and will address both heart and mind in academic pursuits.
I am looking forward to see Les Miserables on Broadway!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It would be advantageous for students to seek counsel from various sources to obtain a more holistic view of what is taking place in them, in their relationship with the teacher and in their relationship with the class or course content. This information will help students know what questions to ask.
To begin the process of growth and mastery, it would also be in the students best interest to think through and then humbly acknowledge their own role in areas where they willfully hindered possibilities of academic growth.
