About Shanti
I am a middle school teacher. I have provided service both locally and globally as an English/History teacher.I have taught in various schools in Elk grove and Sacramento unified school district. I believe every student has some unique talents in them which we as teachers need to dig deep with passion and understand to take it out. Patience is the crystal of getting results.
Teaching is in my bones. As a teacher I have seen and witnessed some of my weakest students succeed. I come from a very poor family where my mom/dad could only afford education to one child. They had trust in me and invested in my education sacrificing my siblings education. From that day teaching was my passion, be the best teacher and becoming my parents pride became my priority. I know and trust myself to make a difference in all my students life.I celebrate my students success be it big or small. I give them the praise they need.
I have an ELA authorization blended in my special education credential. I also hold a credential in History. I have been teaching English in middle school for almost 12 years. I also have been teaching more than 20 years and being an ELL myself undertand the difficulties students face to access curriculum. I have been also tutoring all subjects with other tutoring companies like ,Club Z and Wyzant. I also have been doing ELA tutoring at my site .

I first like the to build a relationship, trust, honesty and feel comfortable working with me.The teaching learning should be a willingness rather than the force of an act where by the student comes stressed and does not perform their level best.Teaching learning is a two way process. I usually facilitate the lessons and let them explore their own protention provide more 1-1 where and when needed.
