About Evelyn
I was a slow learner in my earlier years of school, so I can appreciate the struggle some students experience. I am passionate about offering encouragement and support in overcoming obstacles, as well as praise in building healthy self-esteem. The parent of the student would call me for a free phone consult and, if they prefer, I would schedule to meet with them in a public place after our initial phone consult. I only work with students ages 6-12 who are passionate about learning, and in my own home.
I have worked with underprivileged, inner city children, children in residential treatment centers, children in church settings, and refugees in Denver Public Schools.
Interview the potential teacher you have in mind, asking about their tutoring experience, the ages they tutor, the price they charge, where the tutoring would take place, and what their expertise is in. Ask them how they would deal with a student who is having problems learning or has some type of disability.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Am I willing to do what it takes to reach my full potential, to make positive changes in my learning experience, and to be a conscientious student? Can I keep my "eyes on the prize?"
