About Susie

I create individualized learning plans that meet students needs, then I customize each lesson based on what was covered and how quickly the student masters the content.

Breaking concepts down for students, and getting them excited about learning is rewarding. Meeting the student where they are in their learning journey is important to seeing progress.

I am a certified kindergarten- 8th grade teacher in Texas. I have over 10 years of varied teaching experience all over the world!

About the lesson

I meet with the parent to discuss the students learning needs and goals. I show the parent how I can support their child and we set up a schedule that works for me and the family. Then, we begin meeting! I leave detailed notes after each session on a shared Google Document letting the parent know what we covered and what are plans are for the next session.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the teacher's students.

Perfect! Ms Stillwell is an awesome, flexible, kind, efficient language tutor. She works hard to get to know how our student learns best, assessed to fill gaps in our students knowledge and motivates her to keep working in-between sessions. Great communication too between parents and student, setting lesson plans, scheduling and work ahead of time. Easy, flexible payment options. Thanks for Ms Stillwell, our student is feeling supported, happier and more confident to head back to school after summer!

Susie did such a great job of meeting my 10 year old son on his level. He instantly felt comfortable with her and responded very well to her lessons. We loved the whole experience!

Thank you for your time and patience with Jason. He needs to continue to strengthen his writing and having an outside source helps me to step away from how I was trying to “help” and see his progress and areas he needs extra work in. Thank you. We are interested in continuing his writing course.

We are so grateful to have an opportunity to learn from Ms. Stillwell. The way she sets up her class curriculum and picks learning resources (ex: NY Times articles, YouTube videos, and other various materials) to motivate our child to approach writing in a fun way is so impressive. He used to feel that writing is boring, but he has changed a lot since he started the class with Ms. Stillwell. Ms. Stillwell's guidance has led him to think that writing is not boring, but fun and productive. He's very proud of himself after writing a draft with Ms. Stillwell during the class. He brags about his writing draft. We are sure that this positive attitude toward writing will be a great foundation for building up his writing ability. Thank you very much for your hardwork and dedication, Ms. Stillwell.
