About Rona
I am excited to meet diverse personalities and imparting my knowledge to a diverse set of learners.
I was already tutoring our neighbors when I was 16 and finally after college, I decided to take a certification course in Education. I passed the licensure examination for teachers and was able to teach in a university as a part-time lecturer on communication courses which helped me immerse myself fully into teaching.
I earned my teaching certificate after I finished my undergrad in Journalism. For me to earn my teaching certificate I needed to study the core subjects in secondary education and finally took the licensure examination for teachers which I also successfully passed.

Firstly, I schedule a consultation with the learner to know what do they need, their learning goals, and assess how I can best help them achieve those.
Currently I have a student with me whom I help prepare with her English tes for the Taiwanese civil service exams. I have had adult students mostly for the entire length of my career as I can easily relate to them and my training in teaching school was also geared towards adult and junior/middle school teaching.
The student will never have to deal with racism or prejudice with me, I am a person of color and I fully believe that everyone regardless of color and race should be able to have an access to free and equitable education.
I am fond of my current student from Taiwan as she is a surfer like me as well. After our sessions we talk about surfing and the places we want to go after the pandemic, she aims to become an air traffic controller and this gave me a perspective that being a surfer does not have to hinder you in achieving high-powered jobs, instead you have to learn how to manage your priorities wisely.

Rona is great in teaching us English. I prefer the way she teaches us, we take time going over difficult grammar lessons so that we can understand I wish to take lessons more from her again. She is patient too.
She was very fluent and goes the extra mile to prepare supplementary materials for me to prepare for my civil srvice exams. it was nice that she's also very kind whenever I have a hard time understanding things and explain to me slowly.
