About Llana
I incorporate each student's interests into the lesson plan and activity. I ensure the sessions are engaging. I'll use educational software and games into the session. I ensure that the lesson is relatable and I take the time to get to know the students during the tutoring sessions. I want all my students to feel valued and heard.
I enjoy when students become excited about their work. It's amazing when they finally understand and master a concept that they've been struggling in.
I have completed my Bachelors degree in English and minored in Education.
I am in my final semester of my Masters degree in English and Secondary Education.
I was a high school student teacher for a year. I student taught grades 9-11.
I've worked as an after school and summer camp counselor for a year in the YMCA. As well as a child watch aid for the past 3 years.

During the first session I will do a get to know you questionnaire with the student. I will ask students about their interests and culture so I can decide what to incorporate in future sessions. Then I will do an read along or test with the student to see what are their strengths and areas they need to grow more in.
