About Abbie
I am always excited to watch my students grow. I am very passionate about teaching. I have been teaching since 2003 when my oldest son was born. I have experience teaching toddlers to high schoolers. I have been a certified general education teacher since 2017. I am also a certified English as a Second Language teacher.
I started teaching at a daycare center and began my journey to become a certified teacher while I was in college. It is the best thing I've ever done!
I am an Early Childhood through 6th grade certified teacher in the state of Texas. I have taught prek 3, prek 4, kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grade students. I am currently a prek 4 teacher and tutor 3rd and 4th grade students.

I begin with introductions and finding out what the student is interested in. I do my best to find a common interest. I also figure out their strengths and weaknesses according to what subject we are working on.
I've worked with ESL students primarily. I have worked with students with dyslexia. I have worked with students on the autism spectrum.
Look for a teacher that loves what they do and has fun.
I recently taught summer school. I had so much fun with the small group of students. We did a lot of art, science experiments, and other activities that were so much fun.

My son was behind in math and some English, language, arts topics from the pandemic and this tutor was a god send! We did sessions in person when permitted and we did zoom sessions and almost immediately my son had positive measurable results. I didn’t think he would get back what he lost from the pandemic but with this tutors help, he is almost above standard in every subject. Also, the communication with her was great. For reference, my son is in 4th grade.
