I have 11 years of experience as a teaching assistant and tutor. My bachelor degree is in education and I am comfortable working with preschoolers all the way up to adults. I enjoy watching students gain confidence in their skills and like learning.

My lessons are mainly for early readers and the elementary level. I usually focus on letter and word recognition with paper/pencil and computer programs. A typical lesson plan depends on the time needed and spent. I first try to assess what the student already knows and what the weak areas are. I plan lessons that bolster those weak areas. My approach to tutoring a student is to establish a sense of being comfortable with learning new lessons and not be afraid to ask questions when needed.
