About Michaela

I am Michaela, a passionate educator with a strong commitment to enhancing student well-being and nurturing a love for learning. My journey in education, highlighted by my roles at education publishing and edTech company, Edrolo, has equipped me with a wealth of experience in designing curriculum-aligned educational resources across a range of subjects. I worked on VCE teams as well as a Junior Humanities team.

I graduated from the Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School with an ATAR of 98.25 and studied English Language, Further Maths, Psychology, HHD and Geography. I have tutored since I was in Year 10 - it is always something I’ve loved!

I have had the privilege of guiding students through their learning journeys, adapting my methods to meet their individual needs, including those with diverse learning abilities. My academic background in Physical Geography and Linguistics (University), coupled with my leadership roles and volunteer efforts, reflect my dedication to fostering inclusive environments and making meaningful contributions to education and environmental stewardship. My approach to tutoring is built on a foundation of patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of educational pedagogies, aiming to inspire and empower students of all ages and levels.

About the lesson

As an experienced private tutor, I specialise in creating personalised learning experiences tailored to the unique needs of each student. With experience tutoring students of diverse ages and abilities, including those with severe anxiety and ASD, I ensure a supportive and adaptive learning environment. My teaching methodology is centered around identifying the most effective learning strategies for each student during the initial sessions, whether it be visual, auditory, or hands-on learning. Lessons typically last one hour, filled with engaging and interactive content suited to the student's pace and level. After getting a feel for the student and their needs and learning styles, I can prepare lessons to ensure maximum gain from each session.

My qualifications, aside from my tertiary studies in Linguistics and Geography, include significant experience in private tutoring and a deep understanding of various Junior and Senior curricula, bolstered by my work with an education resource publishing company. This background enables me to design lessons that are not only informative but also aligned with educational standards.

I am open to both in-person and online tutoring, offering flexibility to accommodate different learning situations. Beyond the lesson time, I dedicate efforts to mark work and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement. My services are designed for students of all levels and ages, aiming to foster confidence, knowledge, and a passion for learning.
