About Brandon

Hello,

I am currently a senior economics and finance undergrad at Boise State University with a 3.8 GPA, involved in many academic extracurriculars.

I accredit my current standing to those who were willing to help me understand complex concepts when teachers were not available. As I am now in the shoes of those who helped me when I was eager to learn, I am looking to return the deed throughout the duration of my final year in college.

I am here as an academic resource to those with the desire to perfect their understanding of concepts in the world of economics and finance; all it takes is your drive to learn.

I got started tutoring informally when I began helping classmates of mine in my calculus and accounting classes during my freshman year of college. I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of seeing the "click" when a formula makes sense for someone. I have since gone on to teach financial and economic concepts in various clubs at my university.

About the lesson

A typical tutoring session consists of a Zoom meeting where you and I will review the problem at hand through these steps:

1. Share current knowledge. My understanding of how well you currently grasp a concept is vital to constructing an individualized approach to teaching.

2. Fill in any gaps or misconceptions of the concept under review. New knowledge can only be built if a strong base exists.

3. Go through any homework you may have together with your new-found understanding. It helps to have an explanation by your side while you work through problems.

4. To ensure a lasting understanding, the roles will switch and I will create a problem for you to explain to me. Teaching is the best way to learn, and if you can explain it back to me, you can definitely do so on your test.

I predominately have helped college freshmen and sophomores. I am also willing to help those in AP high school economics courses as well.
