About Jan

I am Jan Bezuidenhout and I am 56 years old. I am from South Africa and love the diversity of our country. I am fully bilingual in both English and Afrikaans.
I taught Economics and Accounting for almost 4 years, I lectured part time at the University of Johannesburg, I am conducting business presentations to groups ranging from 1 to 70 people.
I always loved working with people and transferring skills and knowledge.
I have vast business experience and I specialised in hospitality for almost 10 years. I received numerous awards during this period, including 3 awards from the National Minister of Tourism for my contribution in the field. I was also invited to guess lecture at the University of North West on this topic.
I am dynamic, enthusiastic and goal driven. It is important to me to succeed in whatever I undertake, and I always take pride in what I do. I believe in the philosophy of pulling people towards you (instead of pushing) in the learning process. The reward lies in the achievement of goals and in the success of the student.
I can add value to the lives of many prospective learners and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to make a difference in their and the lives of others.
I am looking forward to this new journey with you!!!

About the lesson

I am a B.Com Ed and B Com Hons (Economics) graduate with many years of teaching experience. I taught Accounting and Economics (Grades 10 - 12) for 4 years. I have been lecturing Business Management (part time) at the University of Johannesburg and after I completed my TEFL Level 5 Certificate, I taught English in Vietnam.

I also have many years of practical business experience, e.g. Econometrics, Financial Manager, and Senior General Manager of large institutions.

It is important to access students in order to determine their levels of proficiency in the subject. Lessons are then designed accordingly. The interests of students will also be considered in the design of lessons.
It is of utmost importance to have student / class participation during lessons.

Lessons must be interesting, energetic, student and result driven and based on a specific outcome.
