About Nirvana

My name is Nirvana Bernreuter and I love teaching Zumba! The reason is simple... It doesn’t feel like a workout. It feels like a party! Having a good time and burning calories while dancing to latin and exotic rythms. That is what Zumba is all about.

Zumba combines my passion for dancing and fitness, come try it out, I guarantee that you will have a blast.

The special connection with the attendees, the "happiness" feeling, more than a work out is feeling that you can dance, make new friends while you burn calories.

Seeing the smile of people that attend my class is priceless.

I became a Zumba Instructor in 2011 in Jacksonville and since then 4 of my students have became Zumba Instructors.

I started attending Zumba Classes and after a while got inspired by my instructor that encouraged me to take the training and teach with her.

I was certified in Basic Zumba back in 2011 and since then I have taken continuing education in other Zumba specialties such as Basic 2, Toning, Gold, Step, Sentao, Aqua, Kids and recently Strong by Zumba.

I am also Group Fitness Specialist certified by ACE.

About the lesson

I want new students to know that there is no right or wrong in Zumba, as long as you are moving, you are burning calories. I would say that it takes 3 to 4 classes to feel it and learn the basics, just have FUN!

I have worked with college students for Zumba, regular gym attendees teaching Step and regular Zumba, kids and older population when teaching Zumba Gold.

I would recommend to check zumba.com and make sure that your instructor has the necessary certifications to teach.

I love being part of charity events and having the opportunity to give back to the community, since I lived so many years in Jacksonville I have participated in the Dreams Come True Foundation Fundraiser events that is an East Florida Organization that grants wishes to kids with serious diseases.

I also participated in other event such as breast cancer awareness and hurricane relief fundraising for Costa Rica.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe that students should inform the instructor if they have any medical issues, pain or any conditions. We can recommend modifications to the moves to make sure that they don't get any injuries while working out.
