About Emily

Hello! I am excited to offer my math tutoring and dance teaching services for you or your child. I am based in Hoboken, NJ and can offer virtual sessions as well as in person instruction for those residing in the NYC area. Here’s a little more about me!

I graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with BA in dance and education. For over ten years I’ve simultaneously danced proffesionally, taught dance, and privately tutored students of all ages in the New Jersey/New York area. Through teaching dance and tutoring I see how students learn at different rates and I have the patience to figure out why a student is struggling and what strategies are the best to help them progress. Also, I connect with the students through their personal interests in order to engage them more in the subject at hand.

I offer dance instruction in ballet and modern dance styles for all ages. I also tutor all subjects grades K-8, and additionally high school level math tutoring in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus.

My favorite part about teaching is when students have that "ah-hah!" moment, where something just clicked in there head. Everyone has a different way of processing and understanding information. Whether that is information about how to accomplish a dance step or understanding the logic behind a math problem, I pride myself in finding different ways to communicate the same concepts so that every student can find there way to achievement.

Dance lessons offered by Emily are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Hoboken. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
