About Iyawo Dance Theatre
I have been all over the world teaching for about 20 plus years. I was Fourtune enough to have learned and traveled with the best. I have had a very successful career as both a dancer and choreographer/Teacher. I can develop a dancer or a non dancer with many credits and experience under my belt. I was the choreographer for Aretha Franklin and often hired many of her dancers who I trained over the years. I have a passion for teaching.
I enjoy watching a student find joy and passion while learning. I absolutely love teaching while developing skill level and technique.
I started teaching in 1989 at a summer youth program.
I am an award winning choreographer and Dance educator with over 2 decades of experience. I lived in New York for 20 years as a professional dancer and choreographer. I have choreographed for television stage and film. I currently teach as the Dance Department Head at Voyageur College Preparatory High School. I teach all age groups and and levels.
