I come from a holistic approach applying a clear language approach in assessing a student. Any coach will have general questions they ask to open a door to how the student thinks and presents his/her issues. "Clear Language" was developed by a psychologist to help drill down on what truly blocks a person from moving forward so the sessions address the real issue.
Lots of times the student doesn't even know what holds them back. If going in, the client isn't opening up, coaches can be working on the wrong thing as a result.
It is hard to explain it in this space but develop a way to drill down through initial assessment questions with the student so you can assess appropriately before moving forward.
