About Milica

Hello! I'm Milica! I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biochemistry and got a master's degree in chemistry and chemical biology just last year. In my undergrad classes, I was always interested not only in learning things myself, but also helping my peers understand more challenging concepts. In fact, I realized that, by teaching other people I learned better myself! In my undergraduate studies, I have served as a tutor for a variety of chemistry courses since spring semester of my freshmen year and I have been a teaching assistant in chemistry and biology courses throughout my junior and senior year, as well as my masters. Currently, I am Head Teaching Fellow for some chemistry and life sciences courses at Harvard.

I am easy to reach and will respond fast (within a few hours). Feel free to reach out about scheduling a session or any other questions you may have!

My favorite courses to teach are organic chemistry, molecular biology and general chemistry, but I also like to go back to the years of IB Chemistry, Biology and Math. I believe that active learning is the best way to learn and in order to learn something you have to convince yourself that it is true. That is not to say that I only sit there and let people figure things out themselves, but I like to leave students enough time to attempt and work on problems themselves. It can help them learn but also it develops confidence and allows a person to develop personal studying strategy and not depend on tutor giving them the answer. Of course, for novel concepts, I like to take my time and go through the basics, and then have the students apply those concepts to solve a problem. This has been a very successful approach so far, resulting in excellent feedback from the students, with an average review of 4.8/5 (I can share these evaluations with you). Finally, I want to maximize benefits to the students that I work with, so I welcome any feedback from students or parents that allows me to further improve.
