About Amber

My first goal is to ensure that my student is completely comfortable with me and my level of expertise, therefore I want to make my first lessons free of charge. I encourage my students to ask questions and to make sure my style of teaching suits their learning style.

I have always had a passion for school and learning. To me, nothing is better than seeing someone begin to comfortably comprehend material that they were stressed and struggling with in the past. Every student deserves the best help they can get, and it makes me feel accomplished when I get a request to become someone's tutor.

I got started tutoring because I feel nothing is more rewarding than helping a student to finally breathe and feel comfortable with a subject or topic they were highly stressed about. I want to be a lifelong learner, and I feel that as a tudor I can help others learn while I can learn from them as well.

I am in the middle of my second semester in my senior year at WVU. I am a biology major and have taken countless biology classes along with general and organic chemistry. I have tutored athletes before at WVU, which has taught me to be patient with those who have irregular schedules and for those that need urgent help in a short amount of time.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I think it is very important that I can answer any questions they have about tutoring. I want to make sure they are comfortable with me and that I would be the best fit for their learning styles.

I have worked with student athletes at West Virginia University. On occasion, I worked with some high school students as well.

Do not be afraid to ask questions about your teacher's interests and level of expertise. We are here to help you and the best way for that to happen is if you feel completely comfortable.

I like to have my first session free in order to take the time to ensure that we are a right match for each other. After the first lesson, I charge $15/hr.
