About George

Hi All!

My name is George Capen and I am currently an assistant coach at the College of the Holy Cross. I work primarily with our pitchers and catchers, though I work with anybody and everybody regardless of position, age, level, etc.

I am originally from Virginia where I played my high school ball at Paul VI Catholic High School, where we won the conference and state titles in 2012.

I continued my academic and playing career at Division I Holy Cross where I was a four year contributor on the mound. I graduated in 2017, helping lead our school to its first ever Patriot League Championship! We went on to play in the NCAA Regionals at Corvallis, Oregon, where we beat #25 Nebraska to eliminate them from the tournament.

Personally, I had a solid career at Holy Cross. I set the all-time career record for pitching appearances (99) while also ranking in the top ten all-time in career strikeouts and saves. I am the winningest reliever in school history, holding a record of 14-5 while maintaining a 3.98 career ERA.

After graduation, I signed a professional contract with the Seattle Mariners and started my pro ball career.

Although my playing days are over, my passion for the game remains at an all time high as I start my young coaching career.

I have experience coaching and giving lessons to kids of all ages and I have an unparalleled love for passing on lessons that I've learned through my 20 years of being around the game.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! My email is (concealed information)

About the lesson

We will set up a time to meet at Holy Cross in our new indoor turf at the Luth Athletic Complex on campus to go over a game plan for how we will develop the student. My lessons are typically an hour long, but we could do half hour segments, too.
