About Matt

Hi I’m Matt. I was a 3-year varsity starter at Servite High School and played 2 years of Division 1 collegiate baseball at Purdue University. I specialize in teaching infield but also know enough about the game to teach outfielders as well if needed. I transferred home to CSUF to finish my civil engineering degree and to also be home with family before joining the Army. Also currently an Army ROTC cadet. Please feel free to send me a text if you are interested (concealed information)

I was always a player-coach, meaning I was always on a team while coaching. This is my first time coaching as a part-time job.

I've been blessed to have gone to not only a great high school but also a great 4-year division one university. While attending Servite and Purdue I've had the opportunity to be coached by and work with current and past MLB players as well as world-renowned athletic trainers.

About the lesson

I would ask the player what they want to gain from my coaching and what their expectations are. I highly encourage the players' parents to be a part of this conversation. My typical process varies depending on the skill level of the player. I don't have a set process because every player is different.

I have worked with players anywhere from 5-17 years old and of all skill levels.

I would seek out someone who has just gotten out of playing or someone that is still playing. This is because the game of baseball has changed and older coaches tend to be stuck in their ways.
