About

Hello! Having dedicated over 20 years to reaching higher levels in bagpiping, I look forward to helping others pursue a shared passion. As an instructor, I utilize a progressive skill-based approach to learning how to play the pipes well. I do my best to get my students playing their first tunes in as little as 3 weeks after learning the scale. Then, I introduce key embellishments that can be exercised in more advanced tunes to develop your playing skills.

Piping requires an understanding of how the instrument works mechanically - ensuring the instrument is set to the right strength is critical to ensure you have control of the sound. I'm more than happy to show you how to properly set up and/or calibrate the instrument to be enjoyable to play.

Learning any instrument requires diligent practice. If my students can show me they take the goal to heart, enjoy the learning process, and follow my simple progression plan, the positive results will follow; I'll provide all the necessary tools (step-by-step videos, play-along recordings, and sheet music) to help you along the way.

About the lesson

Bagpipes lessons offered by are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Coventry. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
