About Andrew

I studied Mathematics, History, Government and Politics, and Physics at A-level, receiving three A grades and one A* respectively. I later achieved an upper-second class Bachelor's in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of East Anglia, followed by a Distinction, first-class Finance/Accounting Master's at Norwich Business School. I tutor students of all ages including corporate professionals and primary aged children, and have many years of experience as a Scout leader which aids me in helping young people maximise their potential. In addition, I recently returned to England after working in Germany for PwC's GRC department in Cologne performing audit, consulting, and actuarial procedures.

About the lesson

Throughout my postgraduate and undergraduate degrees I have written dozens of academic pieces of varying purpose and length and, in my opinion, writing to persuade is the most important skill in essay-based subjects. Developing an elegant and effective style is key in all forms of writing, and is required to complement specific subject material. Anyone can produce answers with an LLM or search engine, but constructing and interpreting well-reasoned and evidenced arguments is a skill which requires careful nurture. These lessons are for students studying at A-level and below, and aim to both teach subject content and also to improve the student's ability to produce flexible and consistent essays under all conditions.
