About Mikesh
Hi, my name is Mikesh and I am a final year medical student at Plymouth University. I took my A levels in 2018 in Biology, Chemistry and Maths achieving A* A* A respectively. I understand what is required in order to succeed in the new linear a level syllabus with over 100 hours worth of teaching experience.
A typical lesson would look like:
1)Identifying the needs of the student, whether it be focus on exam technique or subject content. More importantly we will look to address why these are difficulties in the first place.
2) Provide subject content, focusing on active recall and Socratic method of teaching. Students often surprise themselves with how much they know. I will ask probing questions linking other areas of the specification and allow them to build synoptic links.
3) We will focus on common exam questions and ensure we perfect exam technique.
As noted in my reviews, I will often go over the allocated time to ensure a concept is fully explored. I have a passion for teaching and understand it can be frustrating when you're left without a concept being fully explained.
I am readily accessible via email and encourage my students to email me any questions they have when revising on their own. I will try my best to answer these before our sessions at no extra cost. I understand the benefits of having someone who can quickly explain things when self studying and with this allowing my students to achieve the best grades. I dedicate my time to help you get the grades you need for the future.
In 2022 I had 2 regular students who achieved an A and A* in biology and chemistry A level respectively, with the rest of my students achieving As in their predicted grades. This was after they came from a B respectively.
In 2021 I had 1 student achieve an A* in chemistry after coming to me with a C.
I tutor students privately and hence my Tutorful hours on my profile are lower than my actual experience.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
