About Leigh

Hi, I'm Leigh! I'm a professional performer and theatre teaching artist with over 20 years of experience. I'm currently based out of Myrtle Beach, SC. In our one-on-one lessons, not only will we focus on your acting and vocal techinique, but we will fine tune each detail of your performance. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned pro, I offer a creative safe space in which you will be able to hone your craft and stay at the top of your game. Now, let's get you booked.

I absolutely love to share my passion of theatre with others. There is no greater joy than seeing the spark in my student's eye when they really "get it". I also love introducing people to shows or plays that they may not have been previously familiar with.

I fell into teaching because I was searching for a position in the arts that I could do between performance jobs. Luckily, I love to teach and have found that it's a great passion of mine!

I hold a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from The New School in Manhattan and I am a proud alum of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. I have taught professionally in both NYC and Austin, TX and l, most recently, I've become the Director of Education and Cabaret Programming at Long Bay Theatre, Myrtle Beach's newest professional theatre.

About the lesson

Our first lesson will be used to get to know my student and their performance goals. I always ask that they come prepared with some sort of material, be it a song, monologue, or speech, so I can get a feel for their current skill level. From there, we make a performance game plan and we will discuss frequency of lessons, what new material they should explore, etc.

I have worked with students of all ages, ranging from 3 years old to adult. I've also worked with disabled adult individuals with Down syndrome and Autism.

Find someone who encourages you and challenges you. The right teacher for you will celebrate your wins and examine your losses, ensuring that you are the best performer you can be. Also, make sure it's someone you vibe with! It has to be a good fit all around to make the kind of progress that you deserve!
