About Carter

Hi my name is Carter!

I have been a musician in some form or another for over half of my life. The strongest outlets of teaching that I bring to the table are for guitar (12 years experience) and for voice (6 years experience).

I have led worship teams for around six years, and have too many teaching experiences to count - so I felt like it was appropriate to extend my services to a larger base of folks. This outlet is extremely important to me because I am able to equip others with the tools to learn to love their instrument will helping to support myself in graduate school. Between my patience and passion in teaching the instrument that has brought me so much joy in my life - I believe that I can be a great teacher for you!

I enjoy seeing the connection that students began to make with their instrument on a passionate level. Seeing students begin to really enjoy where they are and what they have become capable of doing is something that also brings me so much joy as well.

I got started teaching after a member of my worship team around seven years ago reached out to me for private lessons. After that experience I have enjoyed teaching the instrument that has brought my life so much joy.

- 5+ years singing in mixed/SATB groups

- 7+ years of leading bands/groups

About the lesson

The first session is the most important for me as an instructor. I put in the time and care to trully understand where each student is currently at in their instrument. From here, I develop a teaching schedule three weeks out from our first session that best fits the student.

I have primarily worked with younger students (10 years of age to 20 years of age). I have experience working with students 20+ over the years of leading different worship teams.

Communicate what you want to learn and why. If a teacher cannot deliver on the progress that you want to see in yourself as a musician then reach out to one who can.

I had a chance to lead worship with one of the best friends of my life at a cultural event in South Carolina. It was an incredible moment that I play over and over again in my head.
