About Claire

Hello! I’m Claire, a certified Texas ELAR 7–12 educator with a passion for helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. I believe every student can succeed when given the right support, clear instruction, and someone who truly meets them where they are. I specialize in: 1. Reading comprehension 2. STAAR English I & II preparation 3. Essay writing & commentary 4. Grammar and revision skills 5. Argument, literary, and informational analysis My tutoring approach is warm, patient, and highly structured. I adapt instruction to each student’s skill level and learning style so they feel confident—not overwhelmed. Whether a student needs targeted intervention, STAAR strategy support, or enrichment to push their thinking, I build lessons that meet those needs with clarity and purpose. My goal is simple: To help students not only pass their tests—including STAAR—but to truly understand the content, build confidence, and gain lifelong literacy skills. About the lesson

My teaching methodology centers on personalized, structured instruction that meets students exactly where they are and gives them the tools they need to excel in reading, writing, and STAAR performance. As a certified Texas ELAR 7–12 educator, I break complex skills into simple, repeatable steps that build real understanding—not memorization—while teaching students how to think through texts, justify their ideas, and approach tasks with confidence. Every lesson begins with a quick check-in to assess progress and goals, followed by targeted instruction that addresses individual needs using clear models, guided practice, and STAAR-aligned strategies. Students learn in a supportive, encouraging environment where mistakes are part of growth, and each session ends with reflection, feedback, and a plan for next steps. My approach is different because it prioritizes clarity, confidence, and skill-building through highly tailored instruction—empowering students not just to pass a test, but to truly understand and apply what they learn.
