About Wayne
I have a PhD in Human Anatomy and Cell Biology from Duke University, and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Genetics at UC Berkeley. I have taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels at UC Berkeley, Texas A&M, Dartmouth and the University of Puget Sound.
At Puget Sound I taught Introductory Biology to first semester students, and learned how to guide young students in understanding Biology. In the course, I covered biochemical, cellular, genetic, molecular biology, and physiological aspects of biological systems in the context of the scientific process.

I am very interested in teaching science, specifically in biology or chemistry. I have a PhD in Anatomy/Cell Biology from Duke, and 38 years of teaching experience at the university level. I have extensive experience teaching introductory biology to first semester students, and have learned how to present biological processes in an accurate but easily understood manner for young students.
I am able to clearly explain complex biological processes using diagrams and videos. I am able to avoid students’ confusion due to often confusing scientific terms, as terminology can block understanding of biological processes. I respond positively to all questions, and find a way to provide clear answers. I prepare powerpoint presentations that facilitate students' understanding.
